neil cooney 10,416
Always makes me laugh when I see someone walking along a busy road on a 6 foot wide path with the dog on a lead 20 foot in front of them. I supposed if the dog does get squashed the extendable lead would make retrieving the body much easier. Quote Link to post

Its like everything else, its down to common sense, as I said they are handy for stock training, The problem with pet owners is, they don't know how to use them, you can bring them in quickly with your hand, then click the lock on, most ive seen using them, appear not to be able to lock them, which is hard to understand its just one click. I too have been at the receiving end, when my dog was a 3 month pup was attacked by a Lakey, managed to get it off and shouted to him to bring the line in and put the stop on, he brought the dog in, but never clicked the lock on, so the dog shot out and had another go. NickF 50
I use a 40' lunge line for training. It feels safer to me than these cord ones. Anyone who walks a dog has to take responsibility for it on roads and tracks. Once the dog is trained shouldn't need the lead any more, some people just spend there lives with the dog on it. Lazy.
