gday. im after a Jack Russell for foxing and rabbiting, you know, the usual. im also new to terriers, and have never owned one. i've been offered this Jack Russell by a friend whom is 7 hours away, so i cant go and see the dog. my friend sent this pic to me. ive never seen a Jack Russell that is all one colour (without any white). does anyone know: if Jack Russell's can be all one colour? and therefore, is it possible that this guy is Purebred, because thats what im after???

 

Does anyone Know? any replys would be helpful and much appreciated.

its a x-bred mate, jacks are supposed to have white.

Ofcourse, the fact that its not white dont mean it wont hunt.

yes but ive heard that pure Jacks are better than crossbreds and so fourth. is that true?

Depends on the dog and its background.

I've seen pure shite, and rippers that were pure.

and I've seen X-bred shite, and gooduns of them too.

rightio. all i know of him is that he is always wanting outside to do the 'manly stuff' (thats what they said) and that he always beats up his brother. im gunna give him a go. thanks for your help/replys OzzyDogman

mine are all 100% crossbred russells some nice white lakies on the web site makes you piss when you read the breed standard

Agree some on there should know better but its the pound signs .Greedy feckers like a little club for a chosen few ,glad I dont show now pisses me off ..They dont even try to get the old type back .Its just big square heads out of proportion and feck the working side of breeding.

some of em bin winnin shows wi shite for 30 year mate i do the shows but avoid the russell club they made good money out the yanks and the swedes with em n all . i mopped up for a year at the russell club in the early eighties then they stopped me winnin got beat in a champion of champions show by a dog sitting down

he is 8 months old. no he's never been used on anything yet, but the owner/breeder seems to think he's got the right attitude for it and would be a good dog for hunting.

There is a Jack russell and running dog show this weekend in Hamilton Victoria. Might be worth you going for a look if you are close.
