Recommended Posts

Ive got a pair of Canaries that have completely ignored all the nesting material and shes starting laying eggs just straight into a bare nest pan........should i leave them alone or put some material in there myself ?

Interesting one, Gnash. I was reading, on one of the colour canary fora, that this is a deliberate practice. I think stemming from the continent? Ye just don't give the birds any materials. Saves on mites.

Though, I also believe some just think that is a crazy reasoning.

me gnasher when a hen lays without making a nest I make on and use a light bulb to press the shape then place the eggs back in and take all nesting material out of that box they will usually sit in sit no bother
