Guest joe ox
Mush I think your a idiot. You slagged greyhounds off in a previous post, nobody who owns lurchers disagree they should be in the mix. You never answer questions sensibly and the majority of the time you talk rubbish. miles 227
Lord Orford outcrossed his coursing greyhouds to bull to give them more courage, heart ,grit "gameness" ,call it what you will. Apparently the first few generations were a little to "heavy" to win these compertitions, but,a little further down the line he bred a famous dog.(bitch?) Someone on here with more knowledge than me,and A LOT MORE knowledge than you will know what it was called. Something like "casandra" or something? Anyway most moden greyhounds go back to this line, reputedly its were the brindle comes from Quote Link to post

Guest SKINNER
This is none so more prevalent than Lord Orford; an English nobleman who began carrying out experiments which included crossing a greyhound with a bulldog to increase stamina. Some of the greatest dogs currently racing can trace their bloodlines back through Orford’schampion coursing bitch Czarina, who had bulldog blood in her veins. I WILL SAY ITS THE FIRST IVE HEARD OF IT AND I STAND CORRECTED Edited October 10, 2007 by SKINNER Quote Link to post
