Mush I think your a idiot. You slagged greyhounds off in a previous post, nobody who owns lurchers disagree they should be in the mix. You never answer questions sensibly and the majority of the time you talk rubbish.

Lennon,s "Star"

Alan Booths "Fred"

Willy toughs "sonny"

All the salukis in the N.E and most futher afield that are worked are from these lines, with a infusion of smooth desert bred stuff that was up there for a while.Funnily enough he,s pictured in this thread :whistling:

Lord Orford outcrossed his coursing greyhouds to bull to give them more courage, heart ,grit "gameness" ,call it what you will.

Apparently the first few generations were a little to "heavy" to win these compertitions, but,a little further down the line he bred a famous dog.(bitch?)

Someone on here with more knowledge than me,and A LOT MORE knowledge than you :icon_redface: will know what it was called.

Something like "casandra" or something? :hmm:

Anyway most moden greyhounds go back to this line, reputedly its were the brindle comes from :signthankspin:

This is none so more prevalent than Lord Orford; an English nobleman who began carrying out experiments which included crossing a greyhound with a bulldog to increase stamina. Some of the greatest dogs currently racing can trace their bloodlines back through Orford’schampion coursing bitch Czarina, who had bulldog blood in her veins.

I WILL SAY ITS THE FIRST IVE HEARD OF IT :icon_redface: AND I STAND CORRECTED

Have you got a link on google or somewhere for this bit of information miles or baz?

Ive looked right through google and the encyclopedia and i cant find any information to back this up :whistling:

It would be interesting to see :signthankspin:

The original argument was that greyhounds have bull in them not outcrosses like miles says.
