Having Trouble With Making Purse Nets

Hi could anyone help with my nets im practicing with cotton but as i go on my second row and take the first loop ive got a another it looks like if i finish the net ill have a hole ill get some pics on soon hope this makes sense to anyone cheers

Firstly cotton ? might be too fine to practice with get yourself a cheap ball of string . and it does sound like your knots are slipping . Stop knitting and try pulling the meshes youve already done to see if they move

Hi sorry i cant put any pictures up for some reason the uploader isn't letting me browse my pictures but ive figured it out and finished the full net i wasn't going over the back of my left hand and just going through the two and back through the one strand so it wasn't locking the knot properly and slipping like you all said and its string what i used cheers once the uploader works ill put it up

Ah, the old cast over the back of the hand before you tie your knot... I caught me out plenty, just when you thought you had it down :laugh: Nothing worse than doing 2,3 more rows before your knot lets go, well had me pulling my hair out... Ah well, fair play bud, you found the problem and fixed it..

Yeah baffled me till i realised when i got to 5th row and came undone again so cut it of and started again watching step by step on youtube just need to do my knots a little tidier but to be honest it doesn't look that bad for a practice net
