Philluk 181
I've just been reading about deer stalking available on the other site, and how you can pay £75 for a days out, can I ask those who have paid how many days have they paid for and how many deer have they shot on those days? I was reading how the offer is on 3000 acres and last yr 23 roe bucks were shot looking at that ratio there must be hundreds of roe in that wood. Quote Link to post
Pete1977 15
I've got a day booked in May When you take into consideration that the stalker has to pay their tax, food for the day, insurance, fuel, wear and tear on their vehicle and rifle, road tax, the shear mental and physical effort of taking some one who, at least for that first stalk, is going to be a complete unknown to them and every thing else involved and that you might be out for two and a half or three hours or even more £25 an hour is pretty reasonable I think. scraggoak 46
Hi Philluk We take out clients and our sucess rate is around 1 in 3 so our policy is, if we do not put a shootable deer in front of you on the third outing we make no charge for the session, Taking clients can be a very frustrating business as the fallow are so unpredictable often not venturing out until last light, one evening you may see fifty deer in a field only to find that the next evening they have vanished. We like to think that we give good value and the fact that our guests keep coming back must mean we are doing something right. cheers Geoff 1 Quote Link to post
