Guest Ditch_Shitter
If the ducks laying point is exposed to the air, mate? Looking at that egg, I'd suspect a corvid. Quote Link to post
lost scouse 46
ditchy there not that exposed i find it hard to find them Quote Link to post
john b 38
I'm with Ditch on this one. Looks like a magpie or crow to me. The small entrance hole is classic Quote Link to post
lost scouse 46
I don't get any Crows in the backgarden and very rarely Magpies Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Wouldn't know what else to suggest then, mate. But I'd still say corvid. Probably a magpie. They hardly go out of their way to announce their presence, when hunting. And they'd find any nest a lot better than you or I. Quote Link to post
Leon 0
Black & white I'm afraid..... larsen trap or Quote Link to post
Guest little_lloyd
MAGPIE Every morning one of my hens walks to the bottom of the paddock into the hedgerow to its nest where she lays the magpies get them before me most times Quote Link to post
moley 115
that egg has bin broken on the end , no self respecting corvid is going to stab at the end of an egg, because it takes a fair bit of force to smash into a duck egg and the egg would just move as it was whacked, all corvids smash eggs by hitting them in the middle and at the top so the force is stopped by the ground it is sat on , unless its bin laid end up , highly unlikely most small mammals will chew at the pointed end of an egg, so its more likely to be a hedgie , rat or stoat Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
Rattus Norwegicus IMO OTC Quote Link to post
