Guest hunter Posted October 4, 2007 Report Share Posted October 4, 2007 earlier this week my ferret started to scratch and bite himself alot so straight away i thought it was fleas so i checked but it wasnt so then thats when i remembered last week he escaped and one of my dogs slightly mauled him but luckily he has not cuts or bruises so then i checked again today and noticed he had a couple of sore white spots on his belly what he is scratching these are the only symptons i have noticed so i was wondering does anyone know what they are Quote Link to post

Flaky skin being the stuff that got damaged - probably subcutaneously - and is now just shedding off as fresh skin replaces it. Hence the itching. As he's beem alright in himself thus far, I shouldn't worry. Just the healing process. Quote Link to post

MikeTheDog 153 Posted October 4, 2007 Report Share Posted October 4, 2007 If he was mauled by your dog the wound may be dirty, or hair pushed in with the bite causing irritation/minor infection. Check the wound and pull any fur/crap from the wound. Quote Link to post
