Mixed Feelings

Just remember sock, it's only a flight away.

Had some mates who moved to japan, they say is an awesome place.

When you are young is the time to do these things, sooner or later life gets in the way.

Her end goal is to work for a major eastern company with business in the west or vice versa ... At the moment she wants to live in Japan but hopefully in a few years she will be happy to move home ...

Some years ago Ken I worked as an engineer for a huge international company,we regularly had visitors from all over the world ,to look at new projects we developed etc etc.During one such visit by Jap

i can only imagine its a killer to know she will be so far away for so such a period but on the other hand i bet she feels the exact same about leaving you and her mother, family bonds are a great thing really but much and all as you would like to keep them all local and and an arms reach in this day and age with bigger and brighter horizons its inevitable for younger people to go wherever they need to to try and better themselves and do as well as they can.

I got a phone call off my eldest girl yesterday who was as excited as a kid at Christmas telling me she had been offered a job in Japan as soon as she graduates from university in June ... Now on one hand I am immensely proud of her and I am really happy for her that her hard work and dedicatation has led her to what she wants to do in life and I would never say or do anything to jeaperdise that .... But then on the other hand it's JAPAN ..........

Japan is a VERY good country mate, very good money and standard of living.... BUT! the men can be fuuckin leaches with Western women especially tall blonde types, they see them as a challenge

A friend of mine has just come back after being there a year and said it was a fantastic place, good food, great culture and never felt unsafe once

What a great opportunity for her Socks, she's got the brightest of futures by the sounds of it, hats off to the girl.

I drum it into mine all the time, put the work in and it will pay off, as proven with your daughter.

Oh great my daughter is tall and blonde lol ... She is however pretty straight if she doesn't like something and after spending a year there all ready I think she has the measure of them ... The wage is really good .... She gets her accommodation and utilities paid and a starting wage of £24,000

Tell you I would be surprised if they didn't give her another 10K in 6 months mate. They are well known for paying well to good workers, especially foreigners. My friend was given a 5K golden handshake and told to come back whenever

As for the tall blonde thing I think Gnash hit the nail on the head have faith in her  I'm sure she'll be happy to tell them to fuuck off  Normal foreign country rules apply, stick to well lit areas, don't accept opened drinks and don't get in strange cars etc...... oh and don't cross your chopsticks

Thats great news.....have faith in the upbringing you gave her mate shes obviously got the brains of her mother ;) ... combined with the survival skills of her father she should do just fine :D .....as has been said with todays communications Japan is not as far away as it used to be,it might just as well be Scotland you still wouldnt be able to just trot along and protect her.................but i can understand your apprehension.

A pal of mines son has got a job at Sony designing computer games he go,s out to Japan in a few months.....different worries with a boy id imagine but us being all thick as f**k round here it was an opportunity he couldnt pass by

She isn't what I would call street wise but she is sensible and can stand up for herself when she needs to ... Strange if this was my boy and not one of my girls I would be feeling completely different ......

Amazing opportunity, (I would have loved Japan myself but took a wrong turn and ended up in Texas lol). Like Ideation, I have friends living in Japan and its great. And with the web the world isn't so big  Don't get me wrong, I love my country but would tell any youngster to jump at a chance of working/living in places like Japan.
