outshooting 0
Personally i'd never pay for any hunting permision, as soon as people start it spoils it for everyone else. I called in at a farm last year been there a few times before but the farmer told me some boys are now paying so he'd have to ask me for a tenner to go on the land. i polietly decliened. I also think airguning is getting to commercialised now like course fishing all the different guns scopes camos, lads are spending huge amounts of money thinking it will put more game in the bag unfortunately everybody has to make a living, & the way the government & retailers are hammering the farming community down sooner or later the farmer will have to make changes to make a living,so what would every Airgunner do if the farmers decided to start charging, just give up there hobby & take up going to watch football matches at £40 a go, this is what i don't understand people will pay silly amounts of money for days out at the theme park, football & down the pub & have nothing to show for it ! but when it comes to doing something they get great satisfaction out of they all say i wouldnt pay anything it doesn't make sense. £15 for a great day out with some mates doing what you love or £50 down the pub wake up the next day feeling like sh*t with nothing to show for it. I know what i would rather do ! Edited October 18, 2007 by outshooting Quote Link to post
jacob 28
when i first read this,i thought another money grabbing b*****d, using their position to make money out of people, for what they used to do for free ,i think that was part of the attraction to field sports in general, it didnt cost anything ,and why should it,but then i thought ,hang on hes a struggling farmer with lots of acres to look after, and probably plenty of mouths to feed ,and the government subsidies barely cover his outgoings, and a mans got to make a crust,or two. Yep I agree totally its a good idea and a good price.......after all I pay £20 to race my enduro bike round farmers tracks so why shouldn't this guy charge £15 to shoot on his land fair play to him Now all he's got to do is get a load of live catch traps and get out poaching to get some stuff to shoot at Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Not a bad price now at 15 quid! We holiday in Devon/Cornwall every couple of years, might give me an excuse to take the gun with me the next time we go. £15 would get me a few hours away from the wife & screaming kids!!!! On a serious note, I could see how this sort of thing might appeal to people from the cities, after all not everybody is blessed with miles & miles of beautifull countyside to wander about in. If more people from the city were encouriged to actually participate and therefore gain an understanding of our way of life, & of the need to control vermin, it could only benifit our sport.
