outshooting 0
I hold a lot of shoot days on my land & have now set aside 480 acres for Airgun shooting my web site is http://www.outshooting.com i would be grateful of your comments to see if this offers a good opportunity to Airgunners who do not get the chance of shooting live quarry Many thanks Quote Link to post
speedlamper 0
your prices are already on there so why ask, free advertising? reckon there far to high myself, think you'd be better of paying people £35 a day to shoot on your land Quote Link to post

The start of a slippery slope imo Quote Link to post

The start of a slippery slope imo i control pest, vermin myself & not just my land, not a lot of people are fortunate to have land to shoot with live quarry,£35 is a start price thats why i asked for peoples comments if the price needs to come down then it may do,you would pay more than that to watch a premier football match or go to a theme park, you also pay your local council to takeaway your rubbish & clear pests but do you quibble about that ? & do you get any enjoyment out of it ? you can spend more than that on few hours drinking down the pub & be left with nothing but a hangover. mad al 146
I wouldn't pay a penny myself. We do have our own land and also control vermin for others. I guess I'm lucky as I never had to ask, reputation and " word of mouth" goes a long way here as most farmers would take a dim view on anyone shooting or "exercising" their dogs on their land. It's like I have said in a previous post, an elderly lady neighbour called to me when I first got our pup, "hey boy (I'm 54), what's that dog?", told her and her reply was, "thought so, got work for you when you're ready, something bothering the sheep!" . I think there is a place for "pay as you go" shooting, how many times have you read about some chav, buying the latest kit with all the bells and whistles, then asking about where to shoot/gain permission. Chances are the kit will be back in the cupboard within a month once they realise that the vermin don't come to them on only sunny warm days and that they'd be better off staying home by the fire..............Al Quote Link to post
mole trapper 1,693
As usual AL, you hit the nail dreckly on the head. Quote Link to post
IanB 0
If you can make a go of it, great...I can remember years ago there was a few similar setups for airgunners down south advertised in the rifle mags...theres loads of mental keen airgun owners with no permission Good Luck! Guest Bigbob
For £35 a day can you guarentee how many shots you will get ,When you buy a days pigeon shooting you get a promise of so many shots or your cash back . Quote Link to post
mad al 146
As usual AL, you hit the nail dreckly on the head. Cheers MT, I bought three PCPs and two pistols off a fella last year. The pistols he'd used to shoot pegs off the washing line (good shot mind ) and the rifles he'd fired at "things" he saw floating in a lake FFS!!!!. Point is, this guy lives in a cul de sac surrounded by OAPs, so he was giving all other shooters a really good name I see exactly the same with ATVs, over the years I have been a serious petrol head and had several "flying machines" that looked something like a quad Now I would never consider buying something like this if I didn't have the land to go "absolutely feckin' mental" on and yet I come across endless morons in the local forest that is wide open to Joe Public coming "full on" out of blind corners and wonder why people get a bit miffed :wallbash: Al Quote Link to post
Guest jason1888
i wouldnt pay for any shooting unless it was target shooting you can get live quaryy shooting quite easy i think as long as your nice to the farmer and dont f**k him aboout Quote Link to post

sureshot 0
£35!!!!! lol Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
i dont think its too unreasonable, i have plenty of permission so not for me but ideal for people new to the sport. i cant understand why people are on here are so down on everything. We all had to start somewhere. if you can make a go of it craic on! Quote Link to post
stubby 175
SEEMS WELL STEEP TO ME, theres petes airgun farm, adverts in the air gunner etc located in essex, he charges £20 for your first visit, as its still a working farm, but he'll take you around show you the set up etc, any other visits are a tenner, has large indoor target range, also an outside range with lots of knock down targets etc, plus miles of land to walk, allowing the shooting of live quarry, drinks and food also there at very resonable prices you must have insurance, but then i guess that outshooting would want you to have that too, so pete can do it for £10 outshooting wants £35... what more do you have at your gaff, that warrants an extra £25 Quote Link to post
Guest foxyforce1
I think this is a great idea and the prices arent unreasonable at all, think the problem we have here is so many forum members shoot for nothing heaven forbid the farmer would ask for money (and we dont want anyone giving them funny ideas now do we!) at the end of the day were fortunate enough to have a great sport which is probably the only one in which alot dont have to pay for although the way the countryside and its workers are geting shafted right left and centre by this goverment i think its only a matter of time before more shooters are asked to pay before play, all in all this guys right you dont go to the pub and come home with much change from 35 quid and the fact that under 16s shoot free is fantastic for bringing new blood into the sport...all the best with it! cheers Quote Link to post
