dytkos 17,861
I see it like most things, it's a matter of opinion. Some people rate different makes of cars, others hate them, the same with music/bands etc. It's down to personal preference. If you think someone has a decent animal and they are going to breed from it, its down to you to decide if the animal it is being bred with is what you would want and if you trust the opinion of the owner of the original dogs judgement. A well reared litter from "average" dogs might turn out better than a poorly reared litter from "great" dogs. Getting a pup is always a lottery but besides the breeding/rearing of it, (and I'm not talking about beddy/ whippets for hare coursing and deerhound/salukis for ferretting hedgerows) it's usually the man behind the dog that determines whether its gonna be any good or not. IMO Cheers, D.. 1 Quote Link to post

R.A.W 1,987
on a more serious note arching back to what Phil was saying................. There is an old guy not to far from me that thinks he knows it all and there's a few that think he does. but he's a dinosaur stuck in the past. Things have moved on a lot in our world over the last decade even, from understanding canine behavior to medicines and even training techniques without mentioning technology. I not suggesting that the modern techniques are always right by any means especially when it comes to field craft. What I particularly like about that post is that Phil admits he's still learning and that's something some dog men find hard to to do never mind admit . Hats off to you Phil it's a mantra that I live by also and you've probably forgotten more than I've learnt I'll finish with this statement "A man that think he knows it all really knows Fork all." it's hard to admit with macho pride and ego's and shh There's always someone who will know less and someone who will know more or better ................that shouldn't stop you giving advice just don't get offended when it's not taken or thrown in your face................ some of you may disagree with that 4 Quote Link to post
