Maria Miller

I was listening to Radio 4 (ooh get ' im !!) earlier, and they were discussing the 'second home' rules, such as they are. Miller represents Basingstoke, about 45 minutes drive from London. The rules allow her to acquire, and claim for, a second home near or in London. Her second home is 30 minutes from Parliament. So, we pay out God -alone- knows how much so she can be 15 minutes nearer.

Nearly forgot - she'll get Ministerial severance pay, of course !!

Eric Pickles claims for a central London flat because he 'has to be in work early'. (His words, not mine.)

Culture secretary caught fiddling expenses, a parliamentary commissioner said she over claimed £45,000. It then went to a parliamentary committee consisting of her fellow MP's and she was told to pay back £5000 odd and apologise for trying to obstruct the investigation into it.

That f*****g stinks IMO.. Imagine any of us had claimed that from the tax office in error or otherwise. We'd have had to pay the full amount back with interest in the very least, and could end up in court and get jailed. Her boss Cameron says she's apologised and that should be the end of it, she should be hung out to dry IMO.
