stabba 10,745
I only lamp out of a 4x4 ute, I have a roof mounted lamp, can't upload a photo of my setup because the file is too big but here's some clips of my dogs catching foxes out of it. And there's the proof. Not one of those would be taken on foot. 1 Quote Link to post
nighteyes 275
goes without saying your gonna cover more ground ,see more stuff ,, i think doing it properly with dogs trotting steady beside the motor sounds a great way for dogs but when people talk about pulling upto stuff and then letting them out dosent appeal to me . imo i say the dog, dogs would have to be very very fit or have a couple and switch every so oftern Quote Link to post
Brigzy 1,298
Is there any advantages/disadvantages of lamping out a 4x4? Is it true that lads throw the dogs out the windows/doors whilst at speed in pursuit of their quarry? Is it lazyness or are these lads seeing more rabbits than the lads who walk? just curious Yeah; throw your dog out the window when you are doing around 40-50 mph; rabbits can't run that fast, so you'll catch every one !!! the big chief 3,099
Why anyone would think 4x4 lamping is better than walking is beyond me a dog sat in the motor all night is never going to get as fit as a dog walking all night ever. 4x4 lamping is for the lazy and born idle get out on foot and put the miles in you will then see what youve got on end off the leadwhat a load of rubbish the dogs get walked and ran on game sometimes alot of game so how can they be less fit ? Its a choice to use 4x4 not laziness i do both ways and to be honest i get more in the 4x4 round the farm Quote Link to post

Rabbithunter 456
Also for the daytime 'exercise' i very rarely actually walk them. I find a queit back road. Chuck them out the motor and 'trot' them along the motor. In fact ive juat came in from doing so. Except in the summer. All my dogs are brought up around the motor.. Quote Link to post
