downsouth 7,321
I bet if it wasn't possible to lamp from a motor there wouldn't be half as many lads keeping lurcher's. 7 Quote Link to post
fireman 10,917
strangers on it there,i like to be able to see, smell, hear the countryside at night, silently, not blasting across a field in a 4x4,itsamazing what you see when out lamping, its easy to become invisible if walking, lamp off ,walk on. dont mean to sound rude here but when im lamping, im lamping. If i wanted to do a nature trail (see smell hear) id do it another time You talk of becoming invisible i can only assume that you mean sneaking off if your poaching. I can only speculate here because i dont poach. But if i needed ti get away i would much rather take my chances in a motor than on foot. Your full of shit you are pal Edited April 11, 2014 by fireman 1 Quote Link to post
RossM 8,119
Have done it and don't get me wrong it gets the adrenaline pumping, you cover a lot more ground and get it done in a shorter time, and you more times than not "get on it" but these days I prefer to lamp out window, spot quarry park up and walk onto it if it's off before then then so be it. ian 1 36
theres lamping and driving the mud as said which is not the way to do it all that hanging on the side of a motor thats no good and just shows they dont know what they are doing ,i use the lamp and drive at the same time and dont have people hanging off the side of motors or telling what to do that way you can control things alot better and try to get the dogs out when its safe and not when some idot just chucks them out 2 Quote Link to post

Like i said in the post you quoted i really would rather take my chance in a motor. Maybe down your way they get the chopper out, but up here they dont. Iv had some close calls and without the motor i would of been fooked. 1 Quote Link to post

Because you've openly said before you drive where you want and don't give a feck about the damage you do to fields(and posted pics of it) and to tell you the truth your one of the bad apples who brings it on top for others imo ,as for choppers wouldn't really know as only had it out once for me a few years back now and i was only walking puppies and a very old dog so the chopper, armed responce,3 other old bill motors and 7 forestry motors was a little OTT really, mind you it was a cracking little sort who frisked me Quote Link to post

The picture your referring to was a bog hole i got stuck in, the rest of the field was left decent, a nit of flattened grass... was just unfortuneate that i hit the only boggy part... even the farmer laughed at that fact I think anybody who does any 4x4 work, well, there all going to cause damage, sometimes. So i guess were all bad apples? Never mind i aint going to get in a cyber-arguement about it 1 Quote Link to post
