I sent off my first application 2 weeks ago, I haven't even had an acknowledgement call yet,how long do they normally take? I'm in Herts area.

hi ya bagpuss in north yorkshire it takes about 3 to 4 weeks so ive being told.

mine was about three weeks,i had no acknoledgement,i just had the local firearms officer knock on my door one evening with my application he checked the cabinet and i got it two-three weeks later..

It took about a week to get a letter saying i had an appointment with the f.l.o in 3 months! But fair play, after i saw the f.l.o it was less than a week before my coterminous certificate arrived.

you lot are lucky it takes 4 to 5 months here because of the back log

give them a ring to make sure they got your form ..they dont mind you ringing ..best of luck getting it

As everyone can see from this post it varies enormously.

 

You will need to find out from your department what their back log is and how long they are taking on average.

 

Some will be a month, others many many months.

 

Give them a ring, they are normally quite good.

Did you send it to Stanborough Rd Welwyn Garden City Station??

 

I got a reciept within a week

I know of someone who sent it to there local nick and it took 6 months as it gets lost in the internal mail

 

From posting my application to having a visit and receiving my licence took about 6 weeks

Did you pay by cheque?? Has it been cashed??

It wouldn"t hurt to give them a ring to see if they have received it then ask how long it"s likely to take

i live in scotland,and i found depending on your force size renewalls take priority over grants,give them a call and see where your application is at good luck

after not hearing for 2 weeks or so I gave them a call - arranged the meeting on the phone then

 

that was 2 weeks ago - told me would take about 2 weeks to get the SGC, but it hasn't arrived in time for the game fair unfortunately
