J Darcy 5,871
Any ideas...it looks copper to me, with hand embossed patterns on each side. I was wondering if it could be a bit of bracelet???? 3 Quote Link to post
Outlaw Pete 2,224
JD; Why would anyone go to the trouble of hand embossing a bracelet on both sides? On line archaeological society? Quote Link to post

Tiercel 6,986
Looks more like bronze than copper to me. The design on it is primitive, but notice how it stops short of the edge on the top, yet on the bottom it carries on to the edge. Not sure on the bracelet front all the ones I have seen (in museums) have all been curved with no right angle edges. I would say it is a decoration of some sort but for what is an archaeologists guess. PS stop biting your nails. TC Quote Link to post
R.A.W 1,987
Saxon gold ????? I recall a programme on the TV about a guy that stumbled upon a Saxon hoard in Stafford I think. That started with a little piece like that and the guy ended up with something like 40 million in the bank where did you say it was again ? 1 Quote Link to post
