smudgersmith 2
After a few weeks away working from home I had a call last night from a good friend explaining that a young jill fert had just walked into their home via the cat flap and snuggled up in the dog bed.!!! Luckily the dogs are fert friendly and their bloody cat is dead. They asked if I would come over and collect it as they had no real experience of them. Off I trott and picked up this lovely sandy jill, friendly as could be but obviously in some distress. Got her home and had a real good gander at her. Her ears and body were covered in ticks and she has ear mites, these I can deal with. I made up a comfy bed in my isolation court and put plenty of fresh water and dry food down. This morning she was semi active but shivering uncontrolably, this has continued all day. Can anyone tell me what this could be. !!! Smudger Quote Link to post

Smudger symptoms probably due to blood loss via the ticks, give her a whole rabbit as it contains all the iron, vitamins and protein she requires (natures way) hope this helps.all the best Quote Link to post

smudgersmith 2
Hello one and all, thanks for your help on this. The Jill is doing fine and eating well, she is still however shivering. I have cleaned her ears and removed 95% of the ticks and Frontlined her and changed her bedding twice. Was supriced to see that the rabbit I left was untouched, perhaps she was a pet fert.!! Will post a photo this weekend, if she survives which I am sure she will she will make a welcome addition to the Smudger pack.!! Cheer Smudger...... COME ON ENGLAND Quote Link to post
