WILF 47,393
I'm Biased it being a local lad and a local venue But the Borough Hall on Hartlepools Historical Headland is special. And that was a special fight and atmosphere Up there with the Best. Nothing wrong with having a bit of affection for where you come from mate.

pesky1972 5,325
Love watching Ringside and loved this feature. It's usually a good watch and I think it's done a lot to raise the profile of boxing.

gnasher16 30,280
What have I said Gnash out of order or plain wrong that I need to apologise for ? Nothing mara. Ps while we talking about boxing and Hartlepool is getting a mention Could someone stick up the fight at Hartlepool Borough Hall between Michael Hunter and Esham Pickering It was for the European Title What a fight What a Atmosphere I think even Gnash would admit even a East End Venue would struggle to create a better Atmosphere. Can Someone give all Fight Fans a treat and stick it up.? I think it's in 6 parts . Only a complete idiot would mention Hartlepool in the same sentance as the East End when it comes to producing fighters..............you dont need to apologise for that its quite funny.......the funniest part is you dont even know when you are wrong
gnasher16 30,280
Don't forget PRIZEFIGHTER Saturday night SSP2 Keep your eye on Johnny Garton he wont win it but he,ll make things difficult for lads who think they can.......little Millwall shlaaagg !!
gnasher16 30,280
I'll give Gnash another giggle here This bout was as exiting a fight as Hagler v Hearns IMO Gnash Max i dont really understand this constant desire you have to compare Hartlepool to the East End of London all the time.....but some of your statements are outright bizarre and they are getting worse.....the fact you have felt the need to jump all over this thread with Hartlepool this and Hartlepool that shows a real lack of knowledge on the sport if you are seriously implying it compares to East London for boxing talent
gnasher16 30,280
Did u take a look at the Hunter v Pickering fight Gnash Some Fight and Atmosphere you must Admit No denying that. That Atmosphere will take some beating from any venue Especially one of similar size. I saw the fight years ago yes it was a good little scrap..................but theres good little scraps taking place in small halls all round the country the only reason you are obssessed with it is because this one happened to be in Hartlepool !!!..................Go down the York Hall or hundreds of other small halls round the country you,ll see these kind of scraps every week.......thats the trouble with wearing blinkers Max you only see whats in front of you ......look around you once in a while Comparing a small hall domestic scrap at a local venue..... to a superfight in Las Vegas that has been historically remembered throughout the world from 30 years ago......is again, just a little bit silly though. gnasher16 30,280
No constant desire to do anything Gnash apart from highlight there are other parts of Britain that produce sportsmen other than just London. Look up Colin Bell another Great born ' bred and learned his trade in a little ex colliery village with a population of 800-1k The same Colliery George Bowes was born ' bred and Raised in . Colin Bell' Nijinsky you've heard of him yeah To us every bit as good as your Bobby. You are trying to compare domestic fighters with world champions !!!!..................If you cant see how ridiculous that is then you are clearly too lost to work it out ! Of course there are other parts of Britain.......but Hartlepool comes way down the list when it comes to boxing talent........ive been all round the country over the years and met hundreds of different people involved at all levels of the sport, ive never heard anyone talk about Hartlepool as a specific area for boxing talent.....ever !........................so again,to compare it to the East End is just being silly. gnasher16 30,280
Amanda Coulson Savannah Marshall Two Cracking female fighters born' bred and raised in Hartlepool Up there with the Best in Britain. How many world champions have come out of Hartlepool Max ?.................simple question.
