Being on the doner list since I was 18 don't see the point in letting them go too waste in the ground

One fecker i would have been pissed off with if they'd have used a family memebers organ was that waste of space George Best, should of took that liver back out and given to a more deserving cause imo.

they should hold all NONCES in a special jail and just take parts as they need them.just like a breakers yard.

After seeing the story today about the teacher giving his kidney to a pupil,,,I wondered if there were folk left,,,that are against organ donation,,,

Here's the link to the story

You just looked that up after watching Loose Women this afternoon, the timing is a dead giveaway!

As for me, i've been on the donation list for years. Give blood too. If bits of me can save a life, fantastic!

Gave blood back in England, also received a fair few pints when I was a kid - I lost a kidney and liver was mashed up. So anyone who gets my kidney will have a result as it apparently is a super kidney doing the work for 2!

The french blood banks have declined my blood as I was in the UK between certain years (BSE outbreak).

All of me is up for grabs when I dont need them, bit funny about my eyes though, think they should stay in my head.. My kids wouldnt have to wait till im dead though, apart from my kidney cause I aint gonna get far without the only one ive got..

Should be an opt out rather than opt in for all the country, isn't no good to you when your dead and even knackered bodies will have some usable parts. We spend millions every year supporting people waiting for transplants yet burn/bury thousands of usable parts every year. Perhaps its time to pay people, say their children/spouse get a payment when people die who have agreed to being used for transplant. Sounds awful but I’m pragmatic and it would save thousands of lives and millions of pounds. A win for all and you could always instruct that the payment goes to a charity.

No being funny but since most of my liberty's are being eroded one at a time by this great dictatorship it would be nice if I could still retain the rights to MY body (the one and only thing that I guess will be truly mine) even after death, I would much sooner opt in rather than have it forced on me.

I've 'carried the card' for years and my wife has instructions to allow removal of anything that's of any use to anyone. Not sure if they'll be much left that still works as it should, but I won't need it when I'm gone...................

(I originally planned to donate my body to science, but science contested the will !!)

I contacted QMC about it once and they said it depends what you die of, among many other things. 'Cos bodies are used for training, they're no good if there's already been a post mortem and so on and so on. There's loads of hoops you have to jump through.....................can't even give a corpse away these days !!
