scotty 0
Richs in watchfield just outside BOS is pretty good. also tanpits cider between monkton heathfield and bathpool near taunton is good rough stuff. if you go to the second ask for medium or sweet, the dry isnt all that clever. bill88 6
Do any of them still put horse flesh in the vats?I was working near cheddar a few years ago and we had some in a brewery come pub place.I commented on how nice the cider was ,and he said it was because it was made the old way with the horse flesh, kind of gave me the  but i had a few more. Bagpuss 0
I think its my Somerset roots coming out, I am just loving it,can't be bothered with wine or beer lately. So I am trying to try as many different types and regions as I can.I don't really remeber the Cider my Dad used to pick up when he was down there for the week ,but my Grandad used to tell me some stories of how it was made to put me off, you know rats in it and stuff  All I know is there is more to Cider than Magners!! Bagpuss 0
Thanks to all who gave me some ideas where to stop for cider, especially to Levs with his Ciderbrandy tip.Turned out to be the place I'd seen on Rick Steins food heroes. The Cider was great and they do a bottle fermented cider like Champagne, its great and perfect for drinking to celebrate the England Rugby win last w/end.I have another saved for the the England v France clash. It will be chilled and ready for a celebration even the caveman Chabal can't ruin...
