WILF 47,975
For all MU failings this season, I rekon it will be close.........unt are an embarrassed giant with nothing to play for except this. It may just put them in the right place mentally as a team which to me is 75% of any match. You united fans may just be pleasantly surprised, you were dead in the water after the olympiakos result but you pulled it out the bag.......I think this could just go the same way. Moyes......from zero to legend in 5 games? As a "real world" team supporter, would I take 7th or 8th In the league and this position in the CL?.......to f***ing right I would !! I get the same feeling wilf. Something's different at Man U. Rooneys starting to play etc. it's amazing how better a team plays when the pressures off. I still think when the pressures back on next season, moyes will be found wanting but just now, could be a wee Indian summer for Man U.
NEWKID 27,670
I hope your right lads, But this season the big teams have found us wanting, just don't think our midfield will cope... But there's always a chance if Rooney and Mata can fire they'll cause problems. Read an interesting bit the other day, where RVP not playing could be a blessing, Rooney is back as the main striker and Mata pulling the strings, don't know myself... But they've definitely clicked in the last couple of games

I know when larsson broke his leg, viduka started to come into his game. The problem with Rooney, I predicted at Christmas he'd find form before the World Cup. Lot of English lads fighting for positions. Just got to give him the benefit of the doubt.

They may not overpower bayern as you may have expected Unt teams of old to do, but any team with enough spirit, belief and sheer bloody minded determination not to get humiliated can make much better opposition break on the rocks of their determination. Then, you have more than enough talent to nick a 1-0, take the half chance type thing that may just give you a win. For all the mess they may be in, we are still talking about Manchester United here
