Thankyou To Mattybugeye

Recommended Posts

Well with the recommendations from Matt as to the mod for the red ultrafire that included a new lens and black paint with the associated links I now was eager to try the new torch out. Not the best of nights condition wise due to it being quite light and not a breath of wind so I only went out the back of the house for an hour. Fired a total of four shots for these nice condition bunnies:

Not bad for a torch set-up for less than a tenner and a borrowed HW97K.

Many thanks Matt for the advice on the torch.

Great bag for little wander !!

And no problem at all glad you took our word and modded them huge difference all at a fraction of the cost of other high lumin torches on the market .

Happy hunting :)

Hi mc, I originally picked up the information here and then contacted matty who was more than helpful with advice:

The beam on the torch is just right for my borrowed HW97K and working small fields and copses it doesn't throw out excess light to anyone around, so nice and stealthy.

Matty is a star and will do anything to help anyone! This is unrelated to torches I know but.......

Last week I had a disaster where matty came to the rescue. I was driving down the road in my defender when all of a sudden my engine made some horrific noises and died. After fumbling around under the bonnet I couldn't see anything obvious so I gave him a ring, he instantly stopped what he was doing and jumped into his transit van and drove the 20 + miles to come help me. then he worked out my timing belt had snapped (oh fu*k!!!) So he went and picked my girlfriend up (I was on my way for her when this happened) he then towed us home. He went out and got some extra cans of his faverout tyski beer and studied 200 TDI engines through online manuals until 3am - then came round to my house in the morning with engine parts he suspected could be broken wich he had been and collected from a land rover parts specialist. pushrods, gaskets, timing belt and pullies and god knows what else then got to work fixing it. He stripped and rebuilt the top end of my engine replacing all the damaged parts and fitted a new gaskets and timing belt then timed it in. This took him 2 days! (he even cancled 2 days work to do it) and all this time he was in the cold and piss*ing down rain on my drive way. After all his work he got my engine running again and better than it ever has been. And all he wanted in return was cups of tea! I don't know of anyone who would go so far out of their way to help UNBERLIEVABLE!!!

I was devastated when I found out my timing belt had snapped and was expecting to need a new engine! How he worked out how to repair it is beyond me but he did it.

Matty thanks so much your a star!

Sort for sidetracking off torches LOL. But just so you know what he is like

But thanks again!!!
