jwhizz420 177
Try just one dog at time no one around so you got all there attention, use there favourite toy, make it exciting, start off small distance, only 3 goes a day,if you keep doing it and they don't bring back they think that's the game, praise them if they bring back, allways finish on a good on,my dogs 10 month and penny dropped, loves the ball now.even jumped retrived for me the other day . Got to make it exciting for them. 1 Quote Link to post

moocher bb7 51
Don't do the allyway it will think its a game to get past you not come to you big open space and make it a fun thing get on ur knees to its level if you have to talk like a simpleton soft voice no screaming or yelling with frustration an loads of praise even if it only comes within a yard of you dont lunge to grab it sit and praise it wil click to come back to you soon enough atb good luck Quote Link to post
sikastag_1 689
Like hunk said mate start somewhere like an ally, the hall in your house somewhere you can throw it but the dog can't run past you you can give it plenty praise doesn't need to be 50 yard retrieves even if its a couple of metres still retrieving if it spits it out try putting it back in their mouth and giving it plenty more praise while its holding it then take it out their mouth and throw it again, couple throws couple of times a day. As someone said try it with a ball and an older lurcher aswell sometimes the penny drops. 1 Quote Link to post
