Burnsy 1
Has anyone got any feedback on the hawke varmit scopes(4-16x44) ? Lokking to buy one for my new cz 17. Quote Link to post
Born Hunter 17,818
Funny enough I have a Varmint SF 2.5-10x44 on my CZ455. It's just what I had and saved me buying a new one, but I might upgrade to better quality glass in time. I can group 1/2 inch at 100 yards with it so can't complain. I'd definately favour the 4-16 for shots aproaching 200 yards. Decent budget scope imo. Quote Link to post

I used to use the same scope on a springer air rifle and I very rarely had to rezero. I like to check it on the hmr as I require a much higher degree of precision than I did on the springer but it seems to hold zero well. Recoil is f**k all so you'd expect that really. I've had one case so far where it was shooting 3 inch out at 100 yards but I put it down to a bad knock in the cabinet or something. For the money I like the Varmint scopes but there is certainly better glass out there if you are willing to shell out for it. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Top is the new 4-16x44SF(.22WMR), 3rd down is the older 3-12x42(.22lr). They are perfectly adequate for my requirements and have worked within my expectations, I have never had to refuse a shot due to the scope and have no interest in upgrading either, but I prefer the SF to front. seprim 32
Hi Burnsy I have a 4-12 x 50 on my .22LR and its fine up to 150 yards ( but i only shoot to 100 yards) It has a clear optic but as soon as the light fades, so does the performance and if you want to shoot low light, you would probably be better off going up a grade My two penneth Andrew Quote Link to post
hutchey 147
I've just put my air rifle scope (hawke 4x32) on my new browning 22 and it's really good, in fact probably all I'll need on it. Quote Link to post
