Is It Just Bitches Or What !?

It may just that they inherited the nervousness or as its two separate types it may be you or whoever walks them that’s making them act that way but being a little skittish as a pup or even an adult doesn’t mean it won't do the job when the lamp goes on. My last bitch was always a nervy sort until she found a fecking fox.

a lot of people say the same, dogs can act very different out in the field hunting, to what there like at home. I had a bitch lurcher to lurcher bred, was very nervous , with traffic , people she didn't know .But bloody hell out in the field was like lioness , kill foxes easy would tackle any wild animal . And ive often thought that the dogs you keep already can have big affect on any new pup you bring in , my young dog Buck like Bryn in one way bit of wimpy+sensitve temp, around the house, but out in the field very full on young dog, prob more so than what Bryn is. And Hot meat right regards any kind lurcher x do seem more sensitive ,skittish, wimpy temp compare to other breeds  years ago when I kept Bullmastiffs + pits, staffs, I took a young male Bullmastiff to a training class , just get him used to other dogs+people as he was getting head strong and being big dog wanted him used to people+dogs. Well there was all kinds of different breeds, and the temp of a lurcher is deff different to a lot of different breeds, and looking back now none were similar to a lurcher temp that ive had over the years.

Take a bit responsibility bud, those pups will be looking to you for their source of confidence if you're a bit windy it'll go straight down the lead.

spot on  , there couple by me they got bull xwhippetx .........? had it from the pound and its very dog aggressive , wants to scrap any dog it meets. But its always on the lead and they never let it off ,because there scared it will fight. So said to them loose it of with my young dog Buck, he daft he want do feck all , ok he ran up to Buck just wanted to play with it ,the other dog picked this up and started to play with Buck no prob .Your right the dog picked there fear up down the lead, and acted in that way, not saying all dogs are the same, but bet most would be ok if left to there selves to sort it out, it people that make thing worse I think. It even started to play with Bryn who don't norm play with other dogs

All pups go throw stages, some more than others. Could be a million diffrent things, could be our attitude? Could be perfectly normal, how many lurchers have you had? No judging if these are your first, but lurchers ain't for everybody, most are sensitive no matter the type, even the big bad bullx is usually as soft as fook with folk. Most pups iv had don't like folk walking behind then, can't relax always looking back. They grow out of it tho, but as a rule lurchers are more sensitive and highly strung as pups than most other breeds or types

thats a good post there dotty..

I have a 2 yr old collie x who has always been a little nervous/skittish not of other dogs but strange ppl and different situations. I now have a 5 month bull x and she's the same but worse ! I've had her out this morning for some 1 on 1 training. Anyhow first 2 times I threw the dummy she collected ran straight past me and over the other side of the field to the gate. I called her she looked and carried on walking off. So I started running the other way to which she gave chase. Weird never done that before recall and retrieve have always been spot in until this morning. Anyhow she's been a little nervy from day 1 but I just put it down to being a pup. On our way out the field we came across some old dear with her 2 jacks. When these jacks passed us the pup shit herself, jumping pulling on lead wtf !? Apart from being embarrassing it's fecking annoying. I even went to a show the wkend and the lads there said "nice dog, bit skittish though" pissed off to say the least this morning

. I think you are on the wrong line sir,in general bitches mature much faster than dogs both mentally and physically and seem to be more consistent ,some collie x unfortunately have that nervous streak just seems part of their make up ,no decent bull x I have seen displayed these traits ,quite the opposite ,they have had to been held back.the only advise I could give would be to bring her around busy car parks, towns etc, remember always choose carefully, very best of luck!
