leey 26 Posted March 26, 2014 Report Share Posted March 26, 2014 I've just bought an rcom suro20 because my polyhatch kept letting me down been inconsistent I'm setting it this weekend to see how I go on hopefully it will perform much better and it was 160 brand new which I didn't think was bad atb. There is the one, that has a separate water pump, which sits in a Cradle and rocks, like the Brinsea 40 and 20 and there is the one which is flatter, which has a Reservoir for water inside and turns the Eggs on a Tray. The latter is the £300 and more one. Apparently the dearer one is recommended for Falcon Eggs and any other expensive Eggs, with a proven better Hatch rate. It does EVERYTHING on it's own (you just make sure there is water), turn it on, put the Eggs in and 21-22 days later Chicks. It is quieter than most Incubators too. I have the cheaper one..lol. I spoke to a guy with the dear one and he said he will never go back to anything else. I can't afford to sell another Kidney, next it may have to be my Soul, oh wait, that's gone already. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

leey 26 Posted March 26, 2014 Report Share Posted March 26, 2014 I have the cradle one with separate pump don't want 300 plus in an incubator tbh but I can see why they are that price there a good bit of kit like but this will do me abit more reliable than the brinsea I have I bought mine from p and t poultry they sell all the rcom series.. burnie69 376 Posted March 27, 2014 Report Share Posted March 27, 2014 I have the R-com 50 and the 20. Both do a fantastic job. The only problem I had was when it was new my hatch rates were poor. I rang up the supplier and he told me it needed calibrating before I used it. This was not mentioned in the instructions and when I ordered it. After I did it was spot on. potpoacher 27 Posted March 27, 2014 Report Share Posted March 27, 2014 I have got the king suro. good incubator apart from the fact that the humidity is patchy. you can notice this very definitely as I have had eggs that are too wet in one corner and too dry in the other. it was the same corners over several hatches that did this. Turn in on put it inside and let it get a true reading .Then calibrate your incubator to what the thermometer says. It might be bang on and should be. I've bought 3 from P and T poultry and only my r-com 50 was out. But the start of every hatching season I re do them. The sticker on the glass of the incubator tells you what button to press to re-calibrate it. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

If its level the humidity pump and fan is all working properly there should be no reason moisture should settle in one corner. Also after each hatch take the bottom away and tip the water what collect in the inner sleeve away. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
