The Hunting Act

who better to preserve the hare species than the people who have an interest in hunting them? i totally agree with the majority against guns and in favour of dogs, can anyone realisticly see the ban being lifted? are any political parties pushing for this atm? with money tight a few hares in the pot is surely a good thing in a long winter?

Hare coursing will never be overturned at ground level. I'd be willing to bet my left nut that the ban regarding lurchers and hares as it was, will never be lifted in my lifetime.

its gone for good now, its a thing of the past, that will be seen in books only by joe public .They might take off restrictions with fox hunting horseback +hounds , but lurchers, coursing, terriers is history and the mp's want it that way

Worryingly there is a strong rumour that terrier work within Hunts will be traded to get the law amended to use a full pack of hounds again , remember , the hunting Tories are usually mounted particip

Seems like we might just get a bit of luck in our small country!   Godbless the hill farmers!

And unlike you Max, I'm not willing to 'sacrifice' any of my fellow countrymen's sports or traditions to save any other, regardless of whether I enjoy that particular flavour or not.

Baw remember the uncle character in brave heart the one who come down from the tower in the sack cloth cape and pox ridden face allways with bad news is that fooking you , if you dont vote in a democracy you dont have a say , tell us what your actual interest is in country pursuits if any and how you thnk you can mauntain them given your geographical location and the current political climet by BURYING YOUR HEAD IN THE FOOKING SAND

If you don't vote you don't have a say? Say who, you? See while I pay my taxes to keep spongers like you looking out the window at your brand new mobility car, I'll say how this countries run as long as I want. You put your wee x next to your chosen Lier, puff your wee chest out and pretend you've made a difference if it makes you feel better. I'll live in the real world, the one where I've watched f**k all come good from politicians all my life and will refrain from joining there wee game. Tally ho!!!!

Do you really believe that Bird? Organised official coursing events like the waterloo are consigned to history but everything else is business as usual from what I've seen. Folks have read the Hunting Act and adapted.

I voted Tory at the last Election , they came knocking on my door , and give all the Big Hopes of getting it brought back in, and saying most Tory mps in free vote would vote to get the Ban lifted . I T DIDNT HAPPEN AND IT WONT and we all know that , I keep saying back in the day when you could hunt with lurchers, terries, coursing with no ban, the farmers, keepers, etc never wanted you on the ground in the 1st place, but now it played into a lot of peoples hands with this Ban, an they wont go back to what it was before, no way forget it its gone for good for the above people with those type of dogs :yes:

Bird, we never got the free vote in Parliament for one good reason......... The Electorate didn't give the Conservatives the majority they needed to win the vote. Cameron could quite happily put it to the Commons, but without a clear majority Goverment it would be a monumental waste of time and quite frankly embarassing.
