Before you go off spending money on a shock collar.........try putting a radio in the kennel ,,leave it on .You might think its a stupid idea just try it .Don't go asking me what station ha ha ,just some music .Had a pup one time same as yours never stopped barking and whineing Radio worked a treat

i used a canicalm anti bark collar on a whinging/howling lurcher cured it within minutes :yes: although it meant i had 2 keep the collar on him cos if i took it off after while he would start again but as soon as the collar went on he was in his kennel straight as quite as a mouse i

in my experience pups dont howl or whine for no reason, they do it because something is bothering them, or because at some point they have been in a situation where something was bothering them and the howling became a habit, a kind of coping mechanism. boredom, loneliness, cold, there are lots of reasons that can cause this. i dont mean necessarily that there is anything wrong with how you keep your dogs, but possibly the pup had issues before you got it.

 

the thing with a youngster which is upset is to find out why (this is a test for a true dog man) and put it right, not to punish it. you wouldnt smack a kid for crying would you?
