Bosun11 537
Good advice ideation. Im shit at making descisions! Unfortunately Sawyer being the owner of a working lurcher demands that you make decisions, whether you like it or not! The most common one you'll find over your dogs life is, should I slip or not... Though there are plenty more.... On these litters, go with your gut, (you have already deep down!). Then when you do, walk in the yard and if the litter is all even, pick up the first pup that catches your eye, right away. Don't piss about or change your mind..!! When you have it get it home, put all you can into it over the next 12 months and don't even think about the other pups, other litter or other folk... Now man up and go pick your future worker....!!! South hams hunter 8,924
You'll never good a decent answer on here because everyone is biased mate like personally I'd go for the b/g x s/g just because I like the attitude of bulls where as others don't like em. Forget what anyone else says or thinks and look at them and see if anything catches ya eye 1 Quote Link to post

roybo 2,873
Think about the quarry you want, Be honest if a dog can do all you want Make your choice carefully a lurcher Will be there a long time, See as many litters as possible A good lad will tell you if there pups will do the work you want them to. be carefull of Peddlars and messers. And people in it for £££ then take up fishing shooting golf. Good luck with your future pup You may need it buddy Contact me I need a new rod for fishing ? Ads 39
I was looking for something with a bit of bull in to be honest but im leaning towards the other for some reason. Spoke to both owners and it seems the better choice! You've just answered it yourself mate. Go with whatever feels right. You'd always be wondering if you didn't! Quote Link to post
sawyer 94
Went to see both these litters today and another one. Didnt buy one but talked to the owners a lot and had a good look at pups and parents. One pup inpertucular caught my eye but ive done the sensible thing and ive come home to sleep on it. fatlad 250
have you ever had a pup with collie in it some people cant get on with them especially beardie in the mix but id go for the first that catches your eye Quote Link to post
sawyer 94
Ive got a lot of experiance with collie x but not beardie. Quote Link to post
krawnden 1,036
Ive got a lot of experiance with collie x but not beardie. In that case I'd go with the collie bred litter - you'll know exactly what you're getting into and will have the experience to bring out the best in your pup. 1 Quote Link to post
staffpeg 217
Got the chance of two diffrent litters. Struggling to find a pup now two diffrent mates of mine both got intouch this morning. Heres what they are: 1st litter: bull/grey x saluki/grey 2nd litter: deerhound/collie/grey x bearded collie/grey Want the pup for lamping and mooching about. What do you lads think? 2nd litter the collie brain I'll be spot on for mooching ?? Quote Link to post
sawyer 94
Cheers for the input lads. Truth is the 1 pup from all 3 litters i veiwed what stood out was from the deerhound/collie grey x beardie collie litter. Sire and dam both big strong dogs and the lad seemed genuine. This pup was a dog chunkier than the rest and a broad head with a nice temprement. I was after a bitch to keep in the house with my other bitch if i get the dog he might have to go outside, makes no difference though i suppose Quote Link to post
fox digger 1,086
You'll hurt a pup sleeping on it lol you smart fooker!!!! oh bite the bullet sawyer, ffs be a real man and get the bull x!!! being realistic if your not going to be at the game hammer and thongs then either cross will work fine, its when you are going to concentrate on one species and really intend to work the dog to a high standard then the nitty gritty of what cross suits best has to be considered, for everyday mooching there arent many crosses that arent suitable. the collie cross probably be a nicer dog to have as a pet/worker, jmo, Quote Link to post
