WILF 47,360
Much as it pains me to say it, I happen to agree with silly bollocks !! If a dog will "nail" people then it shouldn't be around people!!.......keep it for its job ! Same go's for any animal that will "nail" people, horse and dog owners are the worst offenders for putting dangerous animals out in public places !! Jmho Edited March 27, 2014 by WILF
Ideation 8,216
Would you say that the guys house was a public place? I do agree that in many situations such a dog would be a liability. But it sounds like the bloke had got a guard dog to guard his house and to deal with anyone that is found within the house, who has not been 'sanctioned' by the owner. It seems to only 'nail' those people. So seemingly it does it's job, it does what it's 'trained' to do.

It's a public place if your waving the animal in front of strangers and you read that fine well matey......"it's ok once he knows I like you"...........that ranks up there with " he is as good as gold" & " I would trust him 100% even with the kids" Statements so nieve it beggars belief. Either that or it's a 4 legged bag of shit that looks the part but has never bitten more than its bone ! Edited March 27, 2014 by WILF
keepdiggin 9,561
do you trust your lurchers around kids out of curiosity?
WILF 47,360
do you trust your lurchers around kids out of curiosity? Not completely no, I only have one dog......he is a bully mixture........I can honestly say I put pups in with him when they are young, he has never shown any human or dog aggression.Do I let him mingle with the kids or be f****d about with by strangers ? No Do I let him run about the park where a 70lb dog may frighten people? No He comes in now and again for a fuss, but to be honest he ain't that interested in anybody else but me and dont really want to be f****d about with, that's the reason I don't let him around all and sundry because you can never quiet tell what a dog like that will do. I definitely don't let anyone fuss the dog that I don't have a firm grip on his collar......unless its out hunting, then he don't give a shit if a bomb go's off, he is just focused on that. In fact, you never know what any dog will do IMHO Edited March 29, 2014 by WILF

In fact, you never know what any dog will do IMHO Good post if more dog owners were like this there would defiantly be less accidents. I see more and more people these days walking along dogue de beardoux or American bulldog in tow happily letting randoms folks kids included pulling the dog about especially on hot days it makes me cringe. Worst still are the people that stroke your dog to try and "prove" to you there not scared of it. I had a friends dog for abit Rottweiler male lovely dog but abit unstable. The amount of idiots who would walk past and try and stroke him was unreal but no doubt if the dog had used his teeth on someone it wouldve been the owners fault.
