morton 5,368
Id have thought if Harry had done the requisite altitude training,no he skipped that as well, then a mush with lesser limbs, lesser, blood vessels and lesser ability to utilise the lower oxygen, would suffer more,no Harry with all his physical dominance suffered the worst .Having extra limbs obviously made no difference, having less training possibly did,im still doffing my cap to the lads that deserved the credit and not the ones we serfs should serve with obligation. I think he was suitably trained for the expedition .... As I said fella if you haven't been there and done it maybe say fukc all is best .........
morton 5,368
Tiercel, behave,I did the minimum required and then scarpered, through choice.Lets look at the full picture, lads with the disabilitys did a full slog,no excuse,no sympathy and no bail out when the going got tough,They went through all the requisite training to get them through the slog, harry jumped in without putting in the hours, when the going got tough the lads strapped on their frozen jointed false limbs and cracked on,Harry went for a little vacation to warmer and more comfortable climes, then returned for the camera at the finish, whilst the frozen, false limbed mucked through, harry got the publicity and earnt the majority of the funding, fair play to him,the rest did the slog and earnt a few quid.My respect is with the lads that deserved it,for their fortitude and bravery, not for being there and raising the most dosh, doff your cap mucker. RubyTex 1,957
Isn't this meant to be a place for discussion and voicing opinion? If so why are people being told to shut up and not talk about things "they don't even know about"? It seems that if you haven't crawled through your own shit having just spent weeks holed up in an Igloo on exercise then you're not allowed to pass comment on anything military. "You weren't there, man!" It would have been nice for Harry to do the whole trek but if he was ill he was ill...can't help it. Still got to think of and commend the efforts of the injured servicemen before his efforts though.

Morton was saying that Harry had minced off and had a break pretending to be ill or whatever ... The point I was making was that no matter how fit or how much training you have done altitude sickness can hit you like a sledge hammer at any time ...and if you havnt been at altitude its difficult to understand .... Oh and if your crawling through your own shit then your admin is very poor indeed ... You should always shit in a plastic bag and double tie it to make sure ............
