as88 146
Don't see why anyone would put any terrier x into working whippet unless you want to slow them down, just looked up the term "pocket rocket" seems these were a big money spinner for lads ,just goes to show some big names can throw glitter on shit and sell itsame applies to grey x then, speeds not everything in a lurcher, steadyness, nose, feet, coat, looks all play a part in why some people get certain crosses.and im talking 3/4 bred here, most half cross is used for other stuff.half x's good for fcuk all! Haven't got the strength or weight! half crosses have got the strengh and the wieght,no good for f...all,well a half cross make a good terriersmens lurcher, and for bigger stuff there great. why would a terrierman need a half x lurcher? courseadog 231
The point is with using a staff as the bull blood is that as we know there are two types of staff about nowa days the short broad headed original types and the lankyer more athletic type with a narrow head As the whippet gets a bit of stick some times rightly for being show breed against the more hardy working/ coursing lines It's worth thinking about the bull used and what it's purpose will be As to the bedlington with there lines compromised by show shite and only a handful of good working lines So if I was to get a dog of eaither breed it would be 3/4 whippet or a racy 2nd gen bullx but you don't see it because there's better dogs out there that do the job well But I would get a good whippet of sound working lines and check its lineage on whippet archives staff ?its out there mateits its out thier but not in thier.not in my bullxs anyway Good to hear but if you read what iv put its just highlighting where it's gone wrong 1 Quote Link to post

Brick top 6
Some people missing the point a bit I think, I no crossing with a grey would offer more, but the point is I want a bit more success in the smaller fields and just wanting a small lurcher, and as for a straight whippet I think adding terrier or bull is going to add more drive and keep size down Quote Link to post

gameforthegame 15
for what its worth, I ran a beddy whip x whip gr, she was 18 1/2 tts and was a good wee dog, mooching, ferreting, lamping. I was more than happy with her and her prey drive. (was sorry to loose her) but cant compare to bull x whippet as not seen one in the field. atb Quote Link to post
