Brick top 6
Has anyone had experience with both? Was thinking about getting a smaller lurcher to run with my other and just wondering about the pros and cons to these dogs as to wich would make a decent all rounder of us it just pot luck Quote Link to post
sawyer 94
Ive never had a beddy x but seen plenty work. Handy little things but wouldnt say it was an alrounder, more of a rabbit dog. Quote Link to post

I like the idea of a bull whippet. Would be a handy addition to the team. And a bloke on here keeps beddy/whip/greys and they are handy at a bit of everything. 2 Quote Link to post
Brick top 6
Not all rounder as in quarry I meant more as in mooching ferreting lamping, but wouldn't just want a straight rabbit dog. I've seen a few beddlington xs but a fair few of them were yappers Quote Link to post
sawyer 94
Bull x whippet might do what your after. Quote Link to post
nothernlite 18,137
Cant see there being to much of a differance between them ive only got a beddy whippet decent enough moocher and ferreting dog only 19tts never lamped her more into day time work Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Wouldn't mind seeing what a bull/beddy/whip would be like? Seen some very handy beady/bull/greys. Quote Link to post
the big chief 3,099
I wouldn't class them as an all-rounders may be a tad too small i use to use a beddy whippet gh as an all-rounder was handy as hell just put over the bullxgh of mine should be handy little things. ideation the pups from mine will be beddy whippet GH x bull gh 2 Quote Link to post
Irishhunter14 89
More for rabbits I would say. Once you start crossing whippet into fox dogs you taking size and strength away 2 Quote Link to post
Themoocher 231
IMO I don't see the point in these bull whippets. Don't see what a bull whippet would offer that racey breed bull greyhound wouldn't. Also think a beddy whippet greyhound would offer more than straight beddy whippet x. Just don't see what the straight whippets x offer as moochers that the others don't? 3 Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,626
If we were talking exact first crosses as bunny bashers then surely the beddy cross would be lighter/quicker? I've no personal experience of bull whippets but the ones I've seen on here look heavy and small. Quote Link to post
Brick top 6
With the whippet x rather than greyhound cross your creating a lighter smaller dog hence better acceleration wich is what I need a lot of the times on these small fields Quote Link to post
bobhow 57
a well bred working whippet would suit you a lot better on small fields and would leave the crosses you mention for dead 5 Quote Link to post
