Tornado1979 145
Arrived at one of my permissions this morning to discover grey squirrels running all over the bloody place, I took a few out with the old faithful anchutz .22 but loads escaped up tree's sat laughing at me. Wish I'd if kept the air rifle for situations like this. Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
Ideal shotgun situation provided you have the necessary land to back drop the tree. Probably ideally suited to a hushpower at that, as squirrels tend to be skittish at best. If they do take to the trees and disappear from the shotgun noise, then with a shotty, you can always shoot the base out of the dreys. It will take out anything inside. Tornado1979 145
I'm still saving for the shotgun mate.. the new rifles have emptied the bank so far this year but it will be paying them a visit when I finally get one Quote Link to post

Alsone 789
FAC air rifle territory. Only trouble with FAC air is you need a lot of land. Miss not only the squirrel but the tree and you have a pellet that's dangerous to quite some distance. Shot are spent within yds or the downwards arc although you need always to keep them within your boundaries. Quote Link to post
