What Does The Fox Say...

Recommended Posts

....Thanks for supper!

Had one of those weeks at work this week so although i was wrecked i wanted to get out, so went to the golf course.took my time to zero this time, lesson learned.

was having no luck all night, saw hundreds but to say they were skittish was an understatement. the second the lamp went on the rabbits were off!

after an hour i got one that didnt bolt, stalked to about 50 yards and it got spooked and hoped up a bank to some railway tracks but stopped half way up and sat and looked at me, must have thought it was safe in the long grass. i took a few strides toward it took one knee and pop, bowled it over, as it tumbled down the hill it kicked and flew through the air into some thick brambles. i could see it so thought i'd pick it up on the way back.

A bit further along on the same side saw a little rabbit jump out of the bank side onto the course about 30 yards from me and didn't notice i was there. so i want prone, flicked the bipod out and, pop! Just little but they all do damage and all grow big.

Eye

little rabbit

i was bitterly cold so decided to call it a night, just past the brambles where my other rabbbit was i saw a little fox (about 1/3 grown) with a rabbit in its mouth carrying it up onto the train tracks. aww thats nice i thought until i looked in the thicks and saw my rabbit wasn't there. :hmm::hmm::hmm:

Great read that Den.

I've shot rabbits and left them for the foxes on my West Yorkshire permission.A few times now, I've watch a vixen pop out of cover and then, her little ones follow out and pick up a rabbit each. Then scamper back into the woods. That's why I love nature and the things you see when you're out shooting. Free rabbit dinners for the foxes might mean they leave my friend's chickens alone.

I have thought about it mate, maybe in the future I'll take the time to master the noble springer but for now numbers are important, and at my level I don't think I could match a pcp.
