Jekyll 329
What are you lot using for lamping rucksacks? Mines now had it and needs replacing. At the moment like most of you I've got a cheap rucksack with the lid cut off and with the top wired open with thick earth bonding cable so bunnys can be dropped in, but is there anything better on the market that would be better for the job?? I've search the web but can't find anything that would be any better. Quote Link to post

trigger2 3,145
i use dog leads over my shoulder as a strap mate. i always gut the rabbits as i am going along and hang them on the lead. i measered a old strap that i had and got strong stuff to make some leads to suit. been carrying rabbits on them for a few seasons now with no problems. ive tried rucksacks but ive found they just make life awkward when looking to get through gaps in the hedge or over some fences. TOMO 26,238
You can use an army bergan,,,from the ex army shops,,,,look at Jim's posts on here,,,,he puts a 25 litter oil drum with top cut off in his,,,,keeps the top open,,,and easy to clean... I'm like trigger though,,, I prefer game carriers over my shoulder,,, that way if I enter a field,,,a quick sweep with the lamp reveals lots of rabbits,,I just let it drop off my shoulder,,,then catch what I can without lugging them round,,, 7 Quote Link to post

I've been doing it for the last season with no problems at all. Easy to drop rabbits in and really easy to clean out. I will put some pics up later. My Bergan is about 15 years old and just about knackered. It needs replacing. Quote Link to post

SirRichardCecil 70
Getting over or under fences with a 25 litre container inside a back pack could be a little awkward. Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
The only time it's ever an issue is going under fences. But it's no different to having a Bergen full of rabbits with or without the bucket inside. Quote Link to post
Sirius 1,391
No full size Bergen for me, a daypack is ideal. Picked up a arktis one a while back. Edited March 23, 2014 by Sirius Quote Link to post

BIGLURKS 874
I still use an old berghaus pack just cut off all the silly straps cut the top off and bent some straining wire into a circle and fitted into the top dont even have too take it off just over the head in the back pack and stick the battery pack in the side pocket works for me any way Quote Link to post
Richard Warwick 50
me and 3 boys went out a few weeks ago, had 12 rabbits, tried carrying these in 3 small back packs, not the best of ideas! Quote Link to post
