Tiercel 6,986
I did read, that mcCartney was apoplectic when Jackson did not leave the songs to him in his will. TC
NEWKID 27,278
You can't get a Beatles song on things like spotify, all owned by Jacko's estate, made millions out of it..... it's funny really he's kicking off about a few clothes, but lost the rights to all of his songs Maybe that's the reason he is kicking off. A lifetime of work owned by someone else, might leave a sour taste. Maybe... I don't think he'll go hungry though mate... If I remember rightly he didn't raise his bid so lost out, has cost him loads since, he was too tight to secure the songs

Macca and jackson were working together, jackson stayed at maccas house, while he is there macca told jackson about buying up the titles to old songs and gleaning the royalties every year. When the company that owned the beatles songs came up Jackson bought the company for a reported $47m. Sounds to me like macca got a taste of his own medicine. TC I'd be suprised if anyone could teach the Jackson's how to make money mate. Jacko is probably still raking it in lol. He knew how to spend it too mind you. Can you mind he started complaining about counterfeit albums and the mafia killed his lama with the threat, bubbles was next lol.

Outlaw Pete 2,224
Who, in gods name, would still be playing his fifty year old shit (Or any of it, come to that) today? I did things, fifty years ago. I don't expect to still be drawing for.

Tiercel 6,986
Apparently, copyright lasts for 70 years now, but royalties are paid forever, being handed down to relatives when you die. Some good info here. TC
Outlaw Pete 2,224
So you don't watch the old westerns etc then? Err, no, mate, frankly Though, I fail to see what that's got to do with this pricks music anyway. He didn't write the score to " High Noon ", did he?

I still watch films I enjoyed when I was a lad, music etc. just cos something is so many years ago, doesn't mean you all of a sudden dislike it.

Country Joe 1,411
You lot need to listen to Strawberry Fields Forever, when it came out, nothing could touch it, way ahead of its time, as was the album Sgt Pepper. Next week im off to see The Bootleg Beatles, looking forward to it. Forget all the myths, regarding C&W singers doing time, the only one that really did bird was Mere Haggard.
