Has Anyone Seen Or Used This Little Gps Gizmo?

I came across this the other day:

I know its a little bit of a gadget but I thought it might provide some interesting statistics on a nights lamping etc! Its not an awful price at £50 either.

Just wondered if anyone has used this or anything similar?

no way, i don't even carry a mobile any more and wouldn't own one with gps, never mind attaching gps to the dog, dependent on range could be useful in countries with game and ground to suit

You could totally flip that on its head though! Say you were lamping rabbits on permission doing nothing untoward and you somehow wound up in a situation being accused of say trespassing you would have all the evidence you need to prove yourself right!

 

I just thought it could be interesting to see how much ground your dog actually covers, it would probably suprise me was all I was thinking.

I belive you take it back home and plug it into your computer then download the data from it which is then presented on a map. Would be good if you could integrate it with your phone because like Walesd1234 says you could keep track of your dogs! It looks a little crude and in the early stages of its design to me. I think its kinda cool idea though.

It wouldn't help you find your dogs mate. You need the unit from around the dogs neck to get the data from it.

 

Would be interesting to see what distance a dog covers on a nights lamping though and how fast they run.

I was going to buy one just to see what distance the dog covers while im out you take it home and plug it into the computer and it gives you the read out

We've got a dog we walk with a GPS clip on its collar and she(the owner)can use her phone to see exactly where he is etc etc without removing the unit.

I liked the look of this, for seeing how far the dog had run and at what speed; but thinking more about it, it would be a good prosocution aid for the police or RSPCA if you were up to no good LOL !!!
