mturner85 9
So guys I spent my second night on my new perm the other day. The first night I done on there a few weeks back I turned up and set up opposite the hay stacks for a bit of ratting, as soon as I switched on the lamp I seen a little f****r which got spoked by the light,, anyway on that first night I only done 2 hours and seen about 8 rats. I done my second night on there yesterday and set up in the same spot but this time with my Home made nv and do you think I seen a rat?.like fuk did I lol. The perm is massive the yard has got about 4-5 massive sheds but at present there full of livestock and for obvious reasons the farmer doesn't want me shooting in there although I imagine with all the feed in there that's where I little shits will be. So my question is where else would you look out for them or would you stick to the hay? In till the livestock goes out which the farmer told me will be going out soon and I can go in there barns. 1 Quote Link to post
the big chief 3,099
ask to shoot near the barns then and bait it up for a couple of nights with jam do the same with the hay bails then you have a few spots to hit not just one 1 Quote Link to post
treecreeper 1,136
have a mooch around the outside of the barns in the day, if they are not living in there and there is plenty of them you should be able to find runs in and out to ambush them. Failing that just wait animals will be out shortly and they will follow if the food drys up. Quote Link to post
nicknack 0
Try seeding an area during daylight , something smelly will help draw them in - anything cos rats an't fussy ! Draw a line with whatever you are using towards your main sitting position - at fixed yardages - 15m/20/25 + and do this again and again so you have multiple bait trails all leading to your firing postion to be used later .
