Terriers weren't invented for sport they were created for a job to control vermin under ground either by bolting or holding quarry at bay in a stop, also the lakey, patt, and border were bred to work crag earths that some were impossible to dig therefor the dogs had to kill the fox under ground all for the control of pests to protect live stock and birds, even in the summer months as it was easier to locate the earths by following fur n feather trails to the cub dens themselves, Don't forget that many yrs ago the average man could not afford a gun so many dog breeds were created for the specific jobs needing done

I hunt terriers for sport mate.. its all about the dog to me and quality.. not about killing all the time

what you do is your own business but stop saying on the WWW you dig for sport, your so called "sport" may be relatively safe for the moment but idiotic comments like that is what put it in jeopardy in the first place. how long does it take to sink in that everybody is agreeing with you in principle but you wont shut up about the odd problem having to be sorted during the OFF season........FFS get a grip will you.

I will say this for ya Irishman,if your terriers stay as long at it as you have on here on this thread there not bad.

Irishman that wasn't in agreement with the bullshit you have posted on here, not in the slightest.   I just cant get my head around why people feel the need to say it's not a sport? Of course it is.

Everyone replying and arguing aren't helping, can a mod not just delete the thread.

judging from that comment you contributed fuk all to the campaign to stop the "terriers to ground" bill being passed, its not that many months ago that the hunting fraternity came out in droves to protect the right to enter a terrier to ground solely for the purpose of vermin control.......... had the support and IWTF not be formed then it may not still be legal in YOUR country, and i bet you dont even know fuk all about it!!

Irishman, I've just spent the last hour or so reading your posts on the terrier section. You are either on a massive wind up, or you really do live in a totally different world to the rest of us who work terriers.

I am impressed by your resilience mind you, but feck me, you really do need to give your head a shake and get into the real world.

Will be very suprised if your still on here by the end of the month, maybe the week

Cheers, D.

I dont give a terrier or terrierman any credit for digging in the summer. You need to shake your head if you think digging in the summer is right

Where did I say that then? THE REAL WORLD, where foxes take lambs, poults and chickens. Its still called pest control!

Cheers, D.

Nothing on here for anyone to be ashamed of is there .Deleting implies we have something to cover up .Terrierwork is part of ongoing fox control for many and as such must remain so .Its the farcical season talk that bears ammunition the to fact that we enoy it and seek to preserve the fox so we can enjoy another season of it .The fact remains that no amount of winter control will leave you cub free in the spring which is when the damage is done
