killbilly 17
Equally large numbers of mountain hares are shot on Scottish grouse estates to stop them spreading parasites and protect the young heather for Grouse. Thats the excuse anyway...their not eaten and most are thrown in stink pits. Hare numbers are up here in the last few years and they can be hard on new saplings, but I leave them alone unless the damage is very bad Edited March 18, 2014 by killbilly
J Darcy 5,871
They were kept singly, in wicker racer crates, with hay in bottom. Iv searched google but can't find a pic, I'm sure iv seen some on YouTube a while ago but can't find clip now. Do they all live in purpose made crates? Or do you still get a few deaths ???? Very few. Can only think of two.
