Fire Pit From Washing Machine Drum

Recommended Posts

My boy has been using one of these for the last couple of years, last year hemade us one and they are great as a patio heater but I also use it as a rubbish burner. If anything they are too good at drawing and use a lot of fuel. But that said they are good to use as a barby with briquettes or charcoal just stick a grid over the top and cook on that.

That might be a drum out of a tumble drier rather than a washing machine and if your going to get a washing mashing one make sure it isn't stainless or you won't weld ;egs on it normaly.

could well be fireman ------ the lad made the legs then drilled and bolted them .

Got some stainless arc rods here. ;) not tried them yet with my cheap arc welder, but at work almost everything is stainless and repairs/fabrication by arc.

The only negative thing I could say about them is that they are dirty, especially if there is any type of wind blowing, all the ash gets blown out through the holes. First time I used ours I just lit it on the patio, what a bloody mess after it, and once started there is no moving them.
