Irishmac 5
Hi, have only ever used nylon nets, 12oz, but have looked and heard about the new spun poly nets. Any views, better or worse ? Quote Link to post
Belfasthunter 12
Alot better less tangling up in sticks etc Quote Link to post
Nick3439 83
Only ever used the horrific Bisley nets till the second 1/2 of the season and now dread running out of spun poly and laying the nylon ones... Quote Link to post
The one 8,467
A lot better I prefer a lighter net and spun easily handled even when wet Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,067
After nearly 30 years of knitting,,,, I now prefer nylon,,, I love them 10 z,,, in my opinion they beat spun poly hands down,, there just stronger,,,,, and when it's snowing there's nothing better,,,, that poly freezes up..... I've got all sorts in my net bag,,with most now being 10 z,,,,all the poly is at the bottom, and hardly ever gets used,,, 1 Quote Link to post

robbo 828
Nylon for open fields, spun poly for hedge bottoms. Quote Link to post
pie-eater 377
I like the spun poly best for knitting with. For used in the field Id be happy to use either. Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,067
Nylon for open fields, spun poly for hedge bottoms. I don't agree with that either,,,unless the nylon is the 4z,,,, I do agree that poly is easiest to knit with.... All I will say to you guys saying poly is,,, invest in 20 four foot 10z nylon,,, bang them in your bag for the start of next season......... You won't go back 3 Quote Link to post
robbo 828
He asked for views or opinions mate. I must admit I have never used 10z nets only used the 6z ones up on the dales but found them terrible under hedge bottoms. Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,067
Yeh sorry,,,I get a bit over the top with subject,,,I'm like rake when there's talk of eu,,micro ect,,, I will say one other thing though,,,,it don't matter what material it is if it ain't set right... 4 Quote Link to post
Mick C. 229
I like the heavier nylon nets. You can almost throw them over open holes with very little adjustment. Never had no trouble with them pursing up and holding a rabbit They don't pick up crap when doing the hard yards either 1 Quote Link to post
