bullx100% 681
aye im going to put about 6inch of builders sand in the bottom, should work well I keep mine on sand to mate I use sharp sand...( lad who lives cross road works at sand quarry so get it for nowt ) I find it absorbs all the moisture out there feeces and also if it rains a lot the birds don't get cacked in mud .......very good job there... patterdalejoel 669
does sharp sand differ from building sand if its not a silly question?

bullx100% 681
does sharp sand differ from building sand if its not a silly question?its just more course and got grit in it...as for what it's been used for ( pen floor) the only difference I found is when building sand gets dry it seems to blow around a lot..but with the sharp sand been heavier it doesn't ......it doesn't seam to clog up to your shoes as much aether when it's wet so you don't have all sand up and down your back yard lol

fat man 4,741
new pen ive built. 7x6 foot. cheers to the lad who helped me put the wire on even though he is a cull Sound looking pen but would you not be afraid a fox would dig in under through that sand or is there a wire base to it aswell.I used to keep mine penned aswell with galvanize sheeting around the bottom of them sank 6in in the ground but a fox still managed to dig in and once in it was easy for him to go from pen to pen, killed 9 cocks on me that night.I now use the barrells with strings attached in a compound with 6ft chainlink and electric wire top and bottom, have not lost a bird since touch wood, lol.
