Guest Ditch_Shitter
Would have been fifty eight, today And he was the guy who inspired a fellow member ~ who may wish to make himself known, or not ~ and myself to actually consider a board such as this, long before the idea was mooted by general concensus and this one started. I really don't know quite what else to say. Only that I felt it more fitting, to his memory, to bring it to ye attention here - rather than on Running Dogs or General. Someone else may yet, quite independently and spontaniously mention it on either of those boards? Who knows; Might well have done already? I would just add that my friend and I had in mind a board which would best encapsulate the spirit of the 'Gatherer' ~ Lamping, after all, no doubt being well and truly done to the nth degree amongst the Running Dogs section? I don't actually read too much of that. No longer my thing, really. Anyway, I'm blithering as I try to formulate the words for is something like this: Might it not be perhaps fitting, in some way, if This board could be some how acknowledged as 'Dedicated To the memory of' our past member, " Lamper / Gatherer " ? Either way. I've just raised a glass to the mans spirit. Fifty seven? Just too f*cking young to be checking out

juckler123 707
Well said Ditch mate as you know i am the other member you mentioned and i agree mate it would be a great mark of respect to dedicate this board to Lamper/Gatherer in some way. Will be joining you in raising a glass for him myself later today I often think about him when im out a gathering he would have loved this board like you say too young to have been taken from his family and its good to see him remembered on here he would have been a major contibuter to this board. MikeTheDog 153
My sympathy to his family RIP. Did he leave a family Ditch?
Guest Ditch_Shitter
He did, Mike. He had a wife and it's a fair bet there were offspring involved. Probably Grandchildren, who will have lost the sort of Grandad we'd all like to be able to say we had and knew. Juckler; Did ye spot, on Milly's 'Posh Rabbits' thread? Millet swiping some apples whilst they were doing his lordships bunnies for him? Absolutely f*cking classic! But it seemed to go right over her head. All she said was 'Boys will be boys', or something. I thought; 'No. That's just downright Primal. Mans inherrent Need to harvest natures bounties' Just what this place is all about, no? ferret15 0
i didn't know the man but have spent a few Min's going over his posts my god to have the courage he did to come on here and say goodbye knowing that he might never come back he must of been so scared. I'm glad so many people took the time to wish him well it would of been terrible if he had come back on here to find only one or two responses he obviously found a lot of comfort and friends in this forum my sympathies are with his friend and family. Kay 3,709
I also noticed it was his birthday and wasnt sure if to post anything or where to post it anyway thats another topic. Goodnight & god bless thoughts with the family Maybe a new section for birthdays & memorials wouldnt go a miss ,the birthday threads tend to get lost in the general board, just an idea Ian
