Dawn B 212
You will destroy the texture of the dogs coat if you clip it. He should have a wiry harsh top coat. Clipping just cuts the top coat and cuts into the soft under coat. It will in time grow back softer and thicker and completely non weatherproof. 1 Quote Link to post

jeemes 4,453
Because he is a rough coated Terrier!!! Not a soft coated one!! Yes I see but not all have that good a coat to begin with. By good I mean typical. So my point is whats the worst that can happen by giving him a clip now and again? Quote Link to post
BOLSTER 808
Clipping /shaving will fcuk the coat up , hand strip all the way , pull from the head towards tail . Quote Link to post

roybo 2,873
I tend to hand strip my terrier this time every year .10 minutes in to it think I'm doing well 30 minutes in start getting fed up of the dog not keeping still. Then give up until the next day, start again telling myself to keep calm,I tell the missus I enjoy it as it's therapeutic, then get the big guns out and shave The little fecker lol.Sorry I hate the job 1 Quote Link to post
