Please Help Me - Rats!

Recommended Posts

Do you know where they are living? You'll need to find there holes to be able to use ferrets, dogs wil catch the odd one but again you'll get best results evicting them from home and letting terrier kill em... Chances are tho more will appear if there is always good food available....

Local Paper.   Mc Donalds Rat Infestation.   Job done. . .

Hi.The council are attending to it. But the rats won't eat the poison. I'm always on the phone to environmental health and McDonald's. No one gives a stuff. I didn't realise that there were illegal ways to kill rats. Would I be breaking the law with ferrets or dogs? Thank you.

i find you post a tad sniffy

Crumbs sorry. I'm not sure what sniffy means. But I'm sorry if I upset you. I was genuinely shocked that there are illegal ways to kill rats.

even rats have rights

Dympna and Drogo are two saints who experienced mental illness and therefore have a special place in my heart. It isn't an anagram and I'm not up to anything sinister. I've never been on here before. I found some of the posts above very confusing.

I do have holes in the garden where I see the rats coming in and out. There are currently traps around the main one. I have been obsessed with keeping the garden not rat friendly. I have a family and I am repulsed by having rats in the garden. I afny got in the house I'd probably have a meltdown and have to sell my house.

I am pestering and pestering the council, but they really don't give a stuff. Feel like releasing a few rats into their gardens.

I am interested in the ferrets route though. But I would hate for a ferret to be injured. Do the ferrets kill the rats or do they just flush them out and then I'd have dogs kill them?

Thank you for your help.

you need to continue hounding the council and maybe contact the media as mcdonalds wont want the publicity then you may get it done legally and you wont break any laws or encorage some of the lesser educated on here to advise you to break the law

Hi. Thank you. So are there illegal ways to kill rats. Surely as long as I'm not torturing them or anything it's not illegal. They're vile pests.

Believe what you want that's how it was,if you look at his content he as replied to a few of my posts I'm hardly going to do that myself am i ?

Anyway we are straying over old ground again Matt will lock post and the OP needs to sort his rats?

To the OP; how do you know the poison isn't working? Most people underestimate the size of rat infestations, and the baiting works on a 'cumulative' basis.

The sad fact is that you have a significant attractant (food source) on your doorstep, so reinftestation is a factor to consider. They council saying that they are litter picking is not enough; demand to see what actual action is being taken to sort out the existing problem. Local Authorities have a Statutory Duty of Care and a legal duty to enforce the law.
