morton 5,368
Im on the lookout for a suitable stud dog of this type,a dog that works to the full potential of its lineage.Id prefer a dog that's standing at 28"-29"ish and is bred from generations of taller type mutts. The dogs ability in the field is of paramount importance and will need to be vetted, the dog must be bred from mutts that can use their nose as well as their eye,be social and biddable.Ill stress again that the mutt must work to an EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH standard and have an history of grafters in its lineage, not one off,s.Genuine enquiry aimed at genuine owners of this type of mutt,Cheers. RossM 8,121
What flavour you after rm? Similar to the above, but any honest worker considered, 100% no bull though. Still no 100% on it though. Quote Link to post

Good luck in finding it! But if you have struggled unsuccessfully to find it over many years, Maybe it's time to look else where? Deerhound x's of that calibre are few and far between these days. Makes sense now you put it like that, but if you're requirements are such, such breed blindness may yet again lead to disappointment. Quote Link to post

krawnden 1,036
Morton - if you want a stud from a lurcher to lurcher background there'll probably be a right old hotchpotch of different breeds that have gone into it. That's a different animal altogether from the collie/grey-Deerhound/grey in the title of the post. That's not to say it's necessarily any better or any worse for its ancestry, simply that the two things you've mentioned are very different IMO. Quote Link to post
