Keeps 403
Right, moving on. Pepsi This bitch is in a few pedigrees, I dug to her a few times ( 1999 - 2003 ) not lots though. But More than enough to make my mind up about her. That statement "Not a lot "suited me fine, i was nervous round her, I always thought she wanted to bite me..!!, She was a good finder and stayer, what more do you need..? I Was on my to notts years ago, not really going for a dig more for a chat Half was there I got diverted to a sand quarry, were a few lads were on a dig, Pepsi was there fastened up, wanting in but a little Russell was nearly to a fox, Anyway to cut a long story short.. A big lump of sand flopped on this Russell and buried it. We manage to get it out, ( russell ) the fox was still up the tube, somewhere. .? Totally blocked off Anyway we let Pepsi off, she was digging and scratching, after about 20 mins she disappeared out of view Finally she got to this fox, through shear determination. This next bit was a bit of a blur.... For some reason I was handed this fox to release it,but it have got a gob full of Pepsi's back foot.!! And was proper locked on I had got this fox in one hand, and was trying to get it off her foot, someone had got Pepsi by the scruff, wasn't watching were her mouth was.... Next thing I new, add got this cranky nutcase hanging off my wrist.. Like I said earlier, I suited me not being in Pepsi's company. So you're saying that Pepsi was a good worker, but you didn't like her, or more to the point, that she didn't like you? I have heard that she had a strange temperament, but I know that Newsboy rated her most highly. Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
We only paid £250 for ours if ya want stabba i can ask who bred ours he might know someone pal Gafer, who bred yours and what lines are in its breeding as quality is everything with these terriers, loads of sh*te out there being bred from unhealthy stock, I've been running a book on health problems and believe me there are a lot in some lines, because a dog looks the right colour or pattern doesn't mean its healthy and pups always look cuddly, buyer beware is my advice, if you want registered stock I would advise "Keeps" or "Lacey 1 on here both breed a quality pup and they take the time to find the right blend and both lines are worked, my own stock are of known parentage but are not registered with any club, good luck with your quest, WM 1 Quote Link to post

Cleanspade 3,322
i dont believe overpriced pups help the breed work wise. but i would have paid a fair lump for the right sort when i got my old bitch. luck was with me and she was dirt cheep. however i have to wonder. if i had paid a fortune would she have been shite. and if the same bitch was gifted would she have been a superdog. the answer is she would have been the same. i would be looking for the best dog not the best price. within reason of course 1 Quote Link to post
BIG G wheton machine 1,594
How many owners of the earth dogs would give the pups away to strangers who will put earth work top of the list for free or would money always have it's place? Quote Link to post
stabba 10,745
I'd say 95% of plummer owners are in it for the money and 5% for the working aspect. No wonder the breed is just about ruined. As someone stated earlier. Because a lad bought one for £250 they are assuming the pup was faulty in some way. And that...just about sums the breeders mentality up. 1 Quote Link to post

BIG G wheton machine 1,594
See it's nice to see the proper workers doing well, but on here the owners are a bit touchy of any negative comments and stress that they have the breeds best interests at heart, but I haven't seen one say that they'd give the pups away if suitable working homes were found. Not having a go as I don't back rip dogs, just stating what I've read. 1 Quote Link to post
